Wempo: Women Empowered enterprises are centered on women's global health and energy.

Our global program, Wempo Energy, develops and supports networks of female-led enterprises in sales and distribution of off-grid clean energy technologies in developing communities abroad. Wempo is partnering with organizations in Central America to increase access to products such as solar home systems that can improve quality of life for local women and their families. We're currently seeking funding and advisors to build capacity on the ground in Guatemala.

Better Earthlings, our U.S.-based program, is a revenue-generating social enterprise with profits going towards Wempo Energy's global mission. Better Earthlings offers personalized household-level guidance in creating a more impactful, sustainable lifestyle that works for you. We connect with and educate primarily women looking to adopt manageable changes--particularly in consumer behavior--that promote health and prosperity for clients, their families, and future generations on Earth.

I am daughter of a strong single-mother and mama/wife to three extraordinary humans with whom I love to explore the world. I am always striving--more successfully at times than others--to ensure that my time and contribution on Earth is a net positive. I am a Spanish teacher turned sustainable development expert concentrated on the nexus of gender equity, women's empowerment, health, and renewable energy technologies. I am an AmeriCorps VISTA alumna, holding a Master's in Global Development & Social Justice from St. John's University (NY/Rome, Italy) and a Bachelor's in International Studies & Spanish and K-12 Teaching Certificate from University of Idaho (Moscow). I am also a writer who, as evidenced by the length of this bio, has yet to master the art of condensing my enthusiasm and ideas into a concise package.
